Water Transportation Economic Impact to Louisiana
The membership of the Offshore Marine Service Association (OMSA) is making this information available to our elected representatives, citizens, and members of the media to assist their understanding of the value of the offshore marine, shipbuilding industry and supporting businesses to the State of Louisiana.
As the State of Louisiana continues to address its budgetary shortfalls, it is critical that tax increases do not create unintended negative impacts on businesses. Toward this end, The OMSA membership is providing data to help all stakeholders understand the impacts of changing the tax structure as it relates to our industries.
The first resource being provided is a study performed by the Louisiana State University (LSU), E.J. Ourso College of Business, Economics and Policy Support Group (EPRG), entitled "Economic Impact of Water Transportation and Support Services".
